Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha, released in the year 2022, was a huge flop at the box office. After the film flopped, Aamir Khan announced to take a break from films. However, now the actor has revealed that the reason for keeping distance from the film industry was not the flop of his film. Rather, he had taken this decision for the family years ago. Aamir has told that due to his passion for films, he did not give time to his children, mother. He regrets and is also angry about this. This is the reason why at the age of 56, he has decided to quit films and give time to the family.
Recently, Aamir Khan appeared on actress Riya Chakraborty's podcast. In the conversation, Aamir told that he had decided to leave the film industry years ago. He said, we were all at home during the time of Covid. I got a lot of time to sit and think. Before that, I worked as an actor for 30 years. And I was so lost in this world of films that I never got a chance to sit and think about my life. I used to work 24 hours a day. People used to ask, you do one film in 3 years, why are you so busy? But I used to spend those 3 years in one film. I used to get so lost in one film, as much as people do not get lost in 10 films. I did not think about anything else.

Further he said, I have not given time to the people who are close to me for 30 years. Not 3 weeks, not 3 months, but 30 years. My mother is getting old. I don't know how much time I have with her. Although life is not certain, but I realized that my time with mother is less. Ayra, she was struggling with depression at that time. She needed me at that time. Junaid is starting his career. He has lived his life alone without me. He is going to take the last big step of his life by coming to films. If I am not with him even at this time, then what will be left. Azad is 9 years old, he will become a teenager in 2-3 years. He has only 2-3 years left, this time will not come back. It is not that my feelings are not strong in my heart for them. The people who are around me are with me. I had to win the audience. I have made the audience laugh, held their hands.

Aamir further said, when Ayra was 4-5 years old or when Junaid was 5-6 years old, I had no idea what their hopes were, what their fears were or what troubled them. But I knew everything about my directors. But I never tried to know what was in my children's hearts. I felt very bad.
Aamir Khan started crying after saying this. After trying to control his tears for a long time, Aamir said, I realized that the time that has passed will not come back. Ayra-Junaid's childhood will never come back. The last 30 years that I could spend with Ammi will never come back again. She never complained. She thought I was lost in my work. That realization was the turning point of my life. Then I took a decision that I will leave the thing that pulled me away from my family. I thought that I will not work in films. Neither will I act, nor will I direct, nor will I produce.
Aamir further says, I want to quit films. I was very angry with myself and my work. Because this was the thing that pulled me away from my family. So I decided that I will complete Lal Singh Chaddha and then quit films. I was happy that I realized this at the age of 56. If it had happened at 86, nothing would have happened. Now I have to give all my time to my family.
