Abhishek Banerjee, who has worked in films like 'Stree' and 'Bhediya', has been caught in a controversy. Actually, Abhishek has had to give clarification due to a statement against Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Recently, Abhishek had said some things about Dharma Productions in an interview which has become a matter of controversy.

Now Abhishek has clarified that he did not say anything wrong and his statements have been distorted. Abhishek used to do casting work for Dharma Productions in the early days of his career.

My statements were misrepresented: Abhishek

Abhishek said, 'I have been reading and hearing a lot of news about Dharma Productions allegedly firing my company Casting Bay during the casting of the film 'Agneepath' (2012). Unfortunately, our words have been completely misrepresented. In a podcast/interview, I had explained the reason for my exit from the projects and also said that we were having trouble getting along with 'Agneepath' director Karan Malhotra. I had also stressed that Anmol and I were very young at that time, around 20 to 23 years old, we did not have much experience of casting for a commercial film, due to which we probably could not live up to Karan Malhotra's expectations.

I have not made any allegations against Dharma Productions

Abhishek further said in his statement, 'I have not accused Dharma Productions of doing anything wrong. I respect Dharma Productions and Karan Johar a lot. I never mentioned Karan Johar in the matter of being fired from 'Agneepath', yet some reports have falsely claimed that he fired us. In reality, Karan Malhotra's team did this, and I also admitted my mistakes. We later worked with Dharma on many projects including 'OK Jaanu', 'Student of the Year 2', 'Kalank' and recently released films like 'Kill'. Apart from this, Dharma Productions also cast me as an actor in 'Ajeeb Dastaan'.

This alleged statement of Abhishek went viral, which led to controversy

Abhishek Banerjee was the casting director of the film Agneepath released in the year 2012. This film was produced by Karan Johar, while its director was Karan Malhotra. The producer of the film was so upset with the casting done by Abhishek that he directly removed him from the film. On this, in an interview given to Siddharth Kannan, Abhishek Banerjee had said, we were thrown out of 'Agneepath'. We were doing casting for that film. However, later the casting of that film was done by Jogi Bhai (Malang). Why were we thrown out? Because Karan Sir did not like our casting.

Abhishek was seen in the recently released film 'Stree 2'.
