Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who has been a part of great films like Stree and Bhediya, started his career as a casting director. At one time he used to do casting work for Dharma Productions, however, once Karan Johar, unhappy with his work, removed him from the film. The actor thought that this would ruin his career, however, it did not happen.
Abhishek Banerjee was the casting director of the film Agneepath released in the year 2012. This film was produced by Karan Johar, while its director was Karan Malhotra. The producer of the film was so upset with the casting done by Abhishek that he directly removed him from the film. On this, in an interview given to Siddharth Kanan, Abhishek Banerjee has said, we were thrown out of Agneepath. We were doing casting for that film. However, later the casting of that film was done by Jogi Bhai (Malang). Why were we thrown out? Because Karan Sir did not like our casting.
He further said, we were casting an actor like Anurag Kashyap in the film. He did not like that and he said, get out of our film. We thought that our career was ruined, over. Because we were fired from Dharma Productions. We thought we were finished, but luckily we survived.
Let us tell you that actor Abhishek Banerjee, who is in the news these days for his acting, started his career as a casting director in the year 2010. He did casting work for films like Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture and Rani Mukherjee starrer No One Killed Jessica, Mickey Virus, Gabbar is Back, Rock On 2, OK Jaanu, Secret Superstar, Kalank.
Talking about his acting career, Abhishek made his acting debut by playing a small role in the 2006 film Rang De Basanti. After playing small roles in many films, Abhishek made his mark with the 2018 film Stree. This year the actor has appeared in Veda and Stree 2.
