AAP to be made accused in Delhi liquor policy case: ED informs High Court

Leader Online Desk: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the Delhi High Court today (14) that the Aam Aadmi Party will also be made an accused in the Delhi liquor policy case. The ED made this argument while opposing the bail application of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the money laundering case.

'AAP' co-accused in further charge sheet

Arguing before Judge Swarkant Sharma, the ED counsel said that in this case we will make 'AAP' a co-accused in our next prosecution complaint (charge sheet). The accused party is making every effort to delay the process of framing of charges in this case.

'This case will not end soon'

While seeking his bail, Sisodia's lawyer said that ED and CBI are still arresting people in money laundering and corruption cases. This case will not be resolved soon.

The Enforcement Directorate has so far filed seven charge sheets in connection with the case. Fresh charge sheets have been filed on April 10. Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader K Kavita and four others have been named as accused in this. 18 people were arrested including Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 and Kavita on March 15. Kejriwal was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on April 10.

Manish Sisodia, who was arrested in March last year, is still in judicial custody. . According to the CBI and ED, which investigated the cases against Sisodia, there were irregularities in changing the excise policy and giving undue assistance to licensees. The Delhi government implemented the liquor policy on 17 November 2021, but it was revoked at the end of September 2022 due to allegations of corruption.
