Aamir's film 'Missing Ladies' in Oscar 2025: Official entry received in Foreign Film category, 29 films sent from the country

Aamir Khan's film 'Missing Ladies' has got an entry from India in Oscars 2025. The film has been given entry in the Foreign Film category.

Film Federation of India Selection Committee chairman Jahanu Barua made this announcement on Monday. This year 29 films have been sent to the Oscars. Out of these, 12 are Hindi, 6 are Tamil and 4 are Malayalam films. A team of 13 members has selected these films.

Film Federation of India gave information about the selection of this film.

The film was released on March 1 The film 'Laapta Ladies' made under Aamir Khan's banner was released in theatres on 1st March this year. This film was directed by Aamir's second ex-wife Kiran Rao. Even though it collected a lifetime collection of Rs 25 crore at the box office, this film was praised by both critics and the public.

What is the story of the film? The story of the film begins in a rural area. It is the wedding season in the village. Two young men board a train with their brides. Both the brides have veils on their faces, due to which their faces are not visible. After the journey is over, both the brides get down and disappear somewhere. A young man 'Deepak' mistakenly brings another bride 'Pushpa' to his house. His real wife 'Phool' is left behind at the station. Perhaps if the bride had not worn a veil, she would not have disappeared. The plot of the film has been written on the basis of this mentality.
