Hindu marriage is a kind of rite. According to Justice V. A bench of Justice Nagaratna and Justice Augustine George Masih said while giving a verdict in this regard. Two trained pilots filed a petition for divorce when the Hindu marriage ceremony was not performed. While hearing it, the court said that the husband and wife need to understand the importance of the institution of marriage keeping in mind the sanctity of the institution of marriage in Indian society before divorce.

It should be realized that marriage ceremony is not only for dancing, drinking and eating, expensive gifts, demand for dowry. Such malpractice during marriage ceremony can lead to strict criminal action. The bench also clarified that marriage is a sacred ceremony between a man and a woman, the sanctity of which needs to be preserved.
