Meenakshi Sheshadri was one of the top actresses in the 90s. She worked with big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Anil Kapoor and Shatrughan Sinha. After getting married in 1996, she left the film industry and shifted to America. Now Meenakshi is trying to make a comeback in the film industry. Recently, she told in an interview what is the reason for male superstars staying in the film industry for so long?

In an interview to Laharen Retro, Meenakshi said, there are many reasons why male actors have lasted so long in the film industry. Dharmendra, Jeetendra and Amitabh Bachchan are still here. One factor is that they do not have any household chores. They can completely focus on their career. The second factor is that they do not have to have children or raise them. All this becomes a woman's responsibility. This is why heroes have still lasted so long in the film industry. People still like them.

'Ghaatak' was the last film

Actress Meenakshi Sheshadri, who made a name for herself in Bollywood with films like 'Damini', 'Hero' and 'Ghaatak', was last seen in the 1996 film 'Ghaatak'. Since then, neither any of her films were released nor was she seen in any Bollywood party or function. In 1996 itself, Meenakshi married US-based NRI Harish Mysore and left India. She is the mother of two children.

This was the reason for leaving Bollywood

It is said that filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi used to cast Meenakshi as heroine in most of his films at that time. The secret was revealed when one day Santoshi expressed his love for Meenakshi. However, Meenakshi rejected Santoshi's proposal and with this she also said goodbye to Bollywood.
