The film stars Sunny Singh, Varun Sharma and Jassi Gill in lead roles.

Director Simarpreet Singh's film 'Wild Wild Punjab' has been released on the OTT platform Netflix a few days ago. Stars like Varun Sharma, Sunny Singh, Manjot and Jassi Gill are in the lead roles in this film. Now director Simarpreet has talked to Dainik Bhaskar about the making of the film.

How did you get associated with this film?
The story behind this is that I was shooting a show for Sony Liv and during that time I met Luv Ranjan sir. However, during that time I met him for some other topic.

I was going to be an associate in his film. Then I think he was looking for directors and God probably gave me a signal and he told me the story of this film. Then he asked me if I would like to direct the film? I replied that yes, I can definitely do it.

Tell us about the shooting of the film?
The shooting of this film lasted for about 65 days. It was shot at Chandigarh, Mohali, Patiala, Nalagarh Fort. Apart from this, shooting was done at some other places in Punjab. 10% of the shooting was also done in Mumbai. The set was created there.

How much time did the casting and story take?
It took about 7 months for this film to come on the floor. We first prepared its screenplay. After this, we prepared for the casting. Many workshops were also held with the actors. We started shooting it only after all this was completed.

How was your shooting experience?
The experience of this shoot was very interesting because we were shooting it in the cold of Punjab during New Year. We found a new thing there, heating packs. These are like dipping tea pouches, which you can keep near the neck or somewhere inside the armpits, which provides heat to the whole body.

Any interesting story related to the film?
If you talk about Sunny Singh, I think I have sat with him the most. This is a completely new role for him. He has never played the role of a playboy. I used to tell him that you have to raise your eyebrows like this, he used to say what are you making me do. But he gave his 100% for his role. Similarly Manjot Singh, whom you have always seen as a small college kid. But this time we had to give him a different personality. Manjot used to take a lot of time to get ready. His turban used to take at least 3 hours to set.

How was everyone's bonding on the set?
She was very nice. We already knew each other. Perhaps that is why everyone worked together and completed the shoot of this film. When everyone met, they became close in the first meeting itself and they became such good friends that I had to behave like a class teacher from the very first day.
