Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is a single parent. In 2017, he became the father of twin children through surrogacy. Their names are Yash and Roohi. Recently, Karan talked about raising both the children alone during an interview. He said that being a single parent is not easy.

Karan told that now the children ask about his mother's name. Karan said, 'We have a modern family. Some strange situations arise like the children ask – from whose womb were we born. Mumma is not our real mother, she is our grandmother. I am going to a counselor so that I can find a way to deal with this situation. This is not easy at all, parenting is not easy at all.'

Children are afraid of being interrupted on any matter
Karan also told that he is scared to even interrupt his children for anything. Karan said, 'When I see my son eating things made of sugar, I worry about his increasing weight. I cannot say anything to him because this is the age when children can enjoy life openly. Sometimes I interrupt him but I feel bad later and I apologize to him. I just want to see him happy. I want my son and daughter to take their own decisions in future.'

Mother supports Karan in raising the children
Karan Johar became a single father of twin children through surrogacy in the year 2017. At the age of 40, the filmmaker told his mother that he did not want to get married but he wanted to become a father. After this, Yash and Roohi were born through surrogacy. Karan's mother supports him in raising the children.
