Leader Online Desk : Domestic stock markets hit record highs today. Markets maintained their bullish momentum throughout the day.Intraday, Nifty hit a new high of 23,481 and Sensex hit a new high of 77,145. However, the Nifty rose 75 points to close at 23,398 at the close of trade. While Sensex rose 204 points to close at 76,810 and Bank Nifty closed down 48 points at 49,846.

Bangla start of stock market, Sensex-Nifty at a new record
The domestic stock market got off to a strong start today (Dec. 13). Sensex-Nifty opened at new record highs. At the same time the Nifty Midcap index is also at a high level. The Sensex opened nearly 500 points higher at 77,102 and later touched a record high of 77,145. The Nifty also opened with a gain of 158 points at a record high of 23,481. The Bank Nifty rose 284 points to 50,179 points while the Midcap Nifty opened 421 points higher to 54,647 points to settle at 54,753.
Global markets got mixed signals. On Wednesday (Dec 12), the market was relieved by the positive movement of domestic and US inflation. The results of this were seen on the domestic stock market today. Around 2123 stocks held while 346 stocks fell. So there is no change in 107 shares.
NBFC Shriram Finance was the top gainer on the Nifty in today's trade. The company's market cap has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time. Apart from this, HDFC Life, Divi's Lab, Titan were the top gainers. Whereas, declines were recorded in HUL, Britannia, Axis Bank, Power Grid. There is no change in the Indian Rupee today. At the close of trade, the rupee closed unchanged at 83.55/$ against the dollar.
Shares of insurance companies rose
Shares of the insurance company experienced a rally in today's trade. HDFC Life gained more than four percent. So also purchases were made in MFSL, ICICI PRU.
Top Gainers, Top Losers
HDFC Life Insurance, Shriram Finance, Divis Lab, Titan Company and L&T were the top gainers in the Nifty 50. While Hindustan Unilever, Eicher Motors, Britannia, SBI Life Insurance and ICICI Nifty 50 experienced losses.
