Sharmin Sehgal, who played the role of Alamzeb in Heeramandi, is being continuously trolled. During an interview, she had said that for Heeramandi, she watched Meena Kumari's film Pakeezah and learnt the expressions from it. Seeing Sharmin comparing herself to legendary actress Meena Kumari, her son Tajdar Amrohi is furious. He has said in an interview that neither Meena Kumari can be born again nor her father Kamal Amrohi, who made Pakeezah. This comparison is wrong.
Recently, in an interview to Zoom, Tajdar Amrohi said on the comparison of Meena Kumari and Sharmin Sehgal, 'There is a huge difference between Heeramandi and Pakeezah. Do not compare the two. No one can make Pakeezah again. Neither Meena Kumari can come alive again, nor Kamal Amrohi.'
Sanjay Leela Bhansali tries to imitate my father- Tajdaar
In the same interview, Tajdar Amrohi was asked if he sees any similarity between Heeramandi and Pakeezah. In response to this, he said, 'I do not want to talk about it because Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been a big fan of my father Kamal Amrohi. Bhansali tries to take the same shots in every film by imitating my father. 15 years ago, Sanjay Leela Bhansali came to Kamalistan Studio. Then he touched the ground where my father used to sit.'
Tajdar Amrohi calls Meena Kumari Choti Ammi.
Sharmin had said that Meena Kumari was the inspiration for this role
After the release of the Heeramandi series, Sharmin Sehgal said in an interview to E-Times that she watched Meena Kumari's Pakeezah 16-17 times to prepare for her role. She played the role of Alamzeb taking inspiration from Meena Kumari.
Let us tell you that the series Hiramandi was released on Netflix on May 1. Sharmin has played the character of Alamzeb in the series, however she is being constantly trolled for being expressionless. On the other hand, clips of some of Sharmin's interviews are also going viral on social media, in which she is seen misbehaving with her co-stars.
Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman, Richa Chadha, Taha Shah, Sanjeeda Sheikh are in important roles in the series. The second part of the series is going to come soon, which has been officially announced.
