This case is in Civil Lines area of ​​Badaun. 46-year-old Pannalal's wife Anita Devi was pregnant. Anita was 8 months pregnant. Then an astrologer told Pannalal that a girl would be born again in his house. Hearing this, Pannalal was upset and as soon as he came home, he tore open his wife's stomach with a sickle and started trying to find out the gender of the fetus. This incident took place on the evening of 19 September 2020.
Anita was admitted to Safdarganj Hospital after this incident. Anita's condition was critical. In such a situation, doctors somehow saved Anita's life, but the fetus died before birth. After this incident, the police immediately detained Pannalal.
According to Anita's brother Ravi Singh, Anita was married to Pannalal 25 years ago. After marriage, Anita gave birth to 5 daughters but Pannalal wanted a son. Pannalal was booked under IPC Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 313 (abortion without the woman's consent). While hearing this case, Judge Saurabh Saxena sentenced Pannalal to life imprisonment and now Pannalal is going to spend his entire life in jail.
