BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has also given his opinion and predicted who could be the strong contenders to win the tournament.
In an interview to an English daily, Jay Shah said which teams would be the strongest contenders to win the upcoming T20 World Cup? Such a question was asked. Answering this, Shah said, 'India, Australia, New Zealand and host West Indies are good teams in T20. I believe one of these teams will definitely win the World Cup.' (T20 World Cup)
When asked about the current form of the Indian T20 team, the BCCI secretary said, 'Team India is in form. The players in the team have a lot of experience, which makes for a balanced team. The selectors cannot pick based on IPL performance alone, as overseas experience is also required.'
When Shah was asked about his three favorite all-time cricket icons, he said, 'Obviously Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. The current squad also includes Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.' (T20 World Cup)
The T20 World Cup is starting from June 2. The Indian team will begin their campaign against Ireland on June 5, while on June 9, Team India will face arch-rivals Pakistan. The final of the tournament will be played in Barbados on June 29.
