New Delhi: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on the interim bail application filed by social activist Jyoti Jagtap, accused in the Bhima Koregaon riots case, till July.
On Jyoti Jagtap's interim bail plea, Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice M. M. The hearing is going on before a three-judge bench of Justice Sundaresh and Justice Bela Trivedi. The application was to be heard yesterday on Wednesday. However, it was later postponed till today. Accordingly, on Thursday, Justice M. M. Sundaresh and Justice S. V. N Bhatti's bench adjourned the hearing till July as it could not complete the hearing.
The Supreme Court will take summer vacation from tomorrow, May 17. After this vacation, the work of the court will resume on July 8. Social activist Jyoti Jagtap was arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967 for alleged links with Maoists in connection with the 2018 communal riots in Bhima Koregaon, Pune.
She has been in jail since September 2020 after her arrest. His bail application was rejected by the Bombay High Court. He has challenged it in the Supreme Court.
