Jagdalpur/Bijapur : 16 Naxalites have been killed by security forces in an ongoing encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Peedia forest of Gangalur area of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. It is reported that two jawans were also injured in the encounter.
The security forces got the news that the staunch Naxalite commanders Linga, Paparao, Chaitu along with their West Bastar Division had gathered in Peedia forest in Gangalur. Later, the security forces from the three districts of Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma gathered in Bijapur and started the campaign. More than 1200 jawans along with DRG, STF, CRPF's Cobra Battalion raided Pedia forest.
