IPL 2024: Big blow to Lucknow Supergiants! Bowler Mayank Yadav out of IPL | leader

Leaders Online Desk : IPL 2024 : Lucknow Super Giants have suffered a major setback while the Indian Premier League is in its final stages. The team's 21-year-old young fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL due to injury. Mayank Yadav had recovered from a side strain in the match against Mumbai Indians at Ekana, but his injury flared up again while bowling in the same match. In such a situation, he had to leave the field during the match. After that, the team management has made it clear that the young speed star will no longer be seen playing in IPL 2024.

Mayank Yadav will not be able to play further

Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justin Langer gave this information on the eve of the match against KKR. Langer said that Mayank Yadav will not be able to play in the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League. His lower abdominal muscle is injured. He is expected to play in the playoffs, but our medical team will take the final decision on that,” revealed.

In this year's IPL, Mayank bowled at a speed of 155 and took seven wickets in four matches. But in two matches he could not complete the quota of four overs. Langer said, 'Mayank has been scanned. He is having pain again in the same place where he was hurt earlier. This is unfortunate. Mayank has discussed this with Bumrah over the phone. After which Bumrah has given him the right advice.'

21-year-old Mayank made his debut for LSG on March 30. He became the first player in IPL history to win man of the match awards in the first two matches. Mayank bowled just one over in his third match of the season and was forced out due to stomach ache. Mayank then made his comeback against Mumbai Indians. But due to injury, he left the match.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are currently third in the points table with six wins from 10 matches. LSG's next match is at home against KKR on Sunday. After this, Lucknow have matches to play against SRH, DC and MI.
