Leaders Online: Amid strong global cues, Sensex, Nifty hit new record highs on Thursday (7th). Sensex touched a high of 74,245 and Nifty touched a high of 22,525 in today's trading session. But after hitting record highs in early trade, Sensex and Nifty closed flat in today's volatile session. The Sensex closed up 33 points at 74,119. Nifty rose by 19 points to settle at 22,493. What is the situation at the regional level?
Sector-wise banks, oil & gas, auto, realty closed in the red, while metals, capital goods and FMCG gained 1 percent each. The BSE Midcap index gained 0.3 percent and the Smallcap index gained 0.7 percent.
Benchmark indices hit new all-time highs in early trade. Nifty traded above 22,500 for the first time.
Tata Steel Top Gainers
Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, JSW Steel, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, ITC, Tech Mahindra, Nestle were the top gainers on the Sensex. While the shares of M&M, Reliance, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank fell.
Nifty traded at 22,500 level today. Shares of Tata Consumer, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors gained between 2 to 4 percent on the Nifty. While the shares of M&M, BPCL, Reliance, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank fell. Nifty Bank also fell. (Stock Market Closing Bell)

Global market
Globally, US stock markets remained bullish on Wednesday after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell hinted at cutting interest rates this year. The Dow Jones, the NASDAQ Composite and the S&P 500 rose as much as 0.5 percent. MSCI's index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.4 percent, while Japan's Nikkei fell 1.23 percent after hitting a new all-time high earlier in the session. Chinese blue chips rose 0.1 percent and the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.2 percent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 1.27 percent.
