Leader Online Desk : Ruturaj Gaikwad IPL 2024 : In the 29th match of IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 20 runs. Mumbai Indians were set a target of 207 runs for victory in this match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 14), but they could only manage 186 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Captain Rituraj Gaikwad played an important role in this resounding victory of Chennai Super Kings. Gaikwad scored a 40-ball 69, which included five sixes and as many fours. Gaikwad came to bat at number three in this match. Ajinkya Rahane opened with Rachin Ravindra in place of Rituraj.
During this brilliant innings, Rituraj registered a huge record. Rituraj has become the fastest Indian batsman to score 2000 runs in IPL history. He surpassed KL Rahul. Rituraj has completed two thousand runs in his 57th innings, while Rahul had to play 60 innings to reach this milestone. Rituraj is on the third position in the overall list. Gaikwad has so far scored 2021 runs at an average of 39.62 in 57 IPL innings, including one century and 16 fifties.
