The film Parinda was released in 1989. In this, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar and Madhuri Dixit were seen in important roles. Recently Vidhu Vinod Chopra talked about this film. He told that he wanted to cast Naseeruddin Shah in this film, but there was a fight between the two. Not only this, due to a challenge Jackie Shroff got this role.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra narrated an anecdote related to the film Parinda at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. He said, 'I wanted to cast Naseeruddin Shah for the role of Kishan in the film Parinda. But a well-wisher of Naseer meanwhile said that there should be a female actor along with the character of Kishan. But this could not happen. Due to this there was an argument between us. Naseeruddin Shah did not like this at all and he told me that you cannot talk to my well-wisher like this and a heated argument broke out between the two. After this he refused to do this role.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, 'This matter did not end here, rather Naseeruddin had challenged me and said that if you are a good director then make Jackie Shroff act. This statement of his made me angry and I also angrily told him that you see, I will do it. After this I went to the actor's house and told him the story of the film. He said yes and then he did this character.
Vidhu told that Jackie's biggest problem was that he was not able to reach the right place while doing the scene. He told that when a scene is shot, the actor has to stand at a particular place so that the camera can capture it properly, but Jackie always had difficulty in this. To solve this problem, Vidhu asked his cameraman Binod Pradhan to light the scene in such a way that Jackie did not need any marks.
