Popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is in the news due to his musical tour Dil-Luminati. Recently, Diljit performed in Hyderabad, however, before that he received a notice from the Telangana government that he should not use words like alcohol on stage. Now, while talking about receiving the notice in his recent show, Diljit has challenged the government that if liquor is banned in every state, then he will never sing songs based on liquor. He has also targeted Bollywood.

Diljit has recently shared a video of Gujarat show. In this he is seen saying on the stage, there is a good news, today I have not received any notice. There is more good news than this. The matter does not stop here. Even today I will not sing any song on alcohol. Ask why. Because Gujarat is a dry state.

I have sung more than dozens of devotional songs. In the last 10 days I have released 2 devotional songs. One on Shiv Baba and one on Guru Nanak Baba. But no one is talking about it. Everyone is sitting on TV and talking about Patiala Peg. An anchor sir was saying on TV that if an actor speaks separately, you will defame him, but you are making the singer famous. I am not calling anyone separately and asking whether you have imposed Patiala peg or not. I am also singing.

Thousands of songs in Bollywood are based on alcohol – Diljit

The singer further said, dozens and thousands of songs in Bollywood are made on alcohol. I have one song, there will be maximum 2-4 songs. I won't sing that either, even today I won't sing those songs. It's very easy for me because I don't drink alcohol myself. But Bollywood actors advertise liquor, Diljit Dosanjh does not do so. You don't tease me, wherever I go I silently do my program and go away, why are you teasing me.

Further Diljit has said, let's do this, let's start a moment. When so many people gather, the moment can begin. It is good that those who have raised this issue. If all the states we have declare themselves dry states, the very next day Diljit Dosanjh will not sing any song on alcohol. I vow. Could this be? This is a huge revenue. Everything was closed due to Corona, the contracts were not closed sir. What are you saying. You cannot fool the youth.

Diljit gave offer to the government

Further the singer also said, let me give you one more offer. Wherever I have shows, you ban alcohol for a day, I will not sing songs based on alcohol. This is very easy for me. I am a new artist and you will say, I can't sing this song, I can't sing that song and I will say, hey, what should I do now? I'll change the song and it'll be just as much fun. If liquor is banned in Gujarat then I am a fan of the government. I want liquor to be banned in Amritsar also. I will stop singing on liquor, you stop the contracts of the country.
