Malayalam actor Jayasuriya was interrogated by Kerala Police on Tuesday. He denied all the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him. He described himself as a living martyr.

During interrogation, Jayasuriya said- I completely deny the allegations. This is a fabricated matter. I don't even need anticipatory bail.

He further said- It is worrying that people are making such false allegations against someone. At least I have a platform to present my side. Many people don't do this. This can create unrest in many families.

According to a report in Manorama, the Kerala Police questioned the actor in connection with a rape case filed by a female co-actor. The actor was called to the Cantonment police station in Thiruvananthapuram at 10 am.

Jayasuriya said- I will fight the case to save myself

In the report of Mathrubhumi, the actor was quoted as saying – I am facing two false allegations. A woman is talking at many places saying that this is me. But later he has denied this on several occasions. I will fight the case legally until the allegations against me are proven false.

This is the second sexual harassment case registered against Jayasuriya by Kerala Police. He was accused by a female co-actor of molestation on a film set near Thodupuzha, Kerala during 2012–13. Following the complaint, the Kerala government had also formed a seven-member team to investigate the claims. A complaint has been registered against Jayasuriya under sections 354, 354C.

After the Hema Committee report, many actresses made serious allegations against the actors.

There have been allegations of sexual exploitation of female artistes in the Malayalam film industry for the last several years. To investigate this, a 3-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of retired Justice Hema in 2019. After 4 years, on August 19, the Hema Committee submitted a 233-page report to the Kerala government, in which it came to light about exploitation by many big artists.

Since the Justice Hema Committee report came out, actresses in the Malayalam film industry have been continuously accusing many big actors and filmmakers.
