The film 'Tumbad', which was released in 2018, was re-released in theaters on 13 September 2024 after 6 years. It is getting a positive response from the audience. Meanwhile, the lead actor and producer of the film Soham Shah talked about the making of 'Tumbad'. He told that the grandmother in 'Tumbad' was initially going to weigh 500 kilos. But the look was changed at the last moment.
Actor Soham Shah while talking to Lallantop said that it took 6 years to make this film. A lot of hard work went into it and ideas kept changing again and again. Soham said that it would be better to call this film 'Dadi Maa Ki Dantaktha' rather than horror.
Talking about the role of Dadi in the film, Soham said that earlier Dadi used to weigh 500 kg. It was very difficult to shoot with Dadi because the people who had made the prosthetic were doing it themselves, and no one else was able to do it. After this, the design of Dadi was changed. He said that the person who played the role of my son in the film, then became Dadi.
Why was there a need to re-release the film? Regarding this, Soham said that I feel that injustice has been done to the film. This film is such that people should watch it. The biggest thing is that people have not got our rights, so we are taking back our rights.
Let us tell you, when the Tumbbad movie first came out in 2018, it could not do anything special in the theatres. But after coming on OTT, this movie was watched a lot by the people and also got a lot of love from the public. However, the makers say that 'Tumbbad' has made a net collection of Rs 1.65 crore on the first day of re-release.
