4 Indian students drown in river in Russia, two girls are among the dead









Moscow; Leaders Online Four Indian students have died after drowning in a river near Petersburg in Russia. The Indian Mission here is in touch with the Russian authorities to return the bodies of these students to their families at the earliest. All four students were studying medicine at Novgorod State University in the city of Veliky Novgorod. It included two boys and two girls between the ages of 18 and 20.

According to local media reports, an Indian student drowned while swimming in the Volkhov River after drifting a short distance from the shore. Then her other four friends started trying to save her. Three students drowned trying to save her. Meanwhile, a girl was pulled out safely by the locals.
